SERVINGTHROUGH ACTION

PADDY'S VAN MINISTRIES

Our students are invited to step into their calling as Men of Action, responding with compassion to the needs of the local and global communities.

Inspired by the touchstone of liberating education, Paddy’s Van encourages students to stand in solidarity with others and become advocates for change. Through practical service experiences, the school community is encouraged to live out the Catholic Christian values in ways that are authentic and life-giving.

This service-focused initiative supports people experiencing homelessness, promotes environmental sustainability and helps newly arrived refugee children through English language tutoring and friendship.

Rooted in the teachings of Jesus and Blessed Edmund Rice, this ministry blends faith, formation and Religious Education Curriculum. It is designed to foster a deep sense of compassion, justice and peace among those who participate.

Emmanuel City Mission

Each Monday morning during term time, staff volunteers and Year 9 Rite Journey students travel to South Brisbane to help prepare and serve meals at Emmanuel City Mission - a daytime refuge offering support to the homeless and vulnerable.

Paddy's Toast Room

Each Thursday morning during term time, the Paddy's Toast Room provides a quick breakfast to students and staff.

The Redcliffe Breakfast Club

Thursday and Saturday evenings, students prepare and serve dinner at The Redcliffe Breakfast Club, offering food, kindness, and conversation to vulnerable members of the community.

Paddy's Garden

For our Year 5 and 6 students, Paddy’s Garden is a hands-on way to learn about sustainability, responsibility, and giving back. The fresh produce grown here finds its way into the meals served from the Paddy's van, proof that even the smallest seeds can have a meaningful impact.
