OUR CAMPUS BY THE SEA
St Patrick’s College is proudly located on what is arguably the most picturesque waterfront location in Brisbane.
Our Shorncliffe campus is more than a place to learn; it’s a place to thrive. With incredible views of Moreton Bay, our students are immersed in an environment that inspires curiosity, wellbeing, and growth.
Our campus is thoughtfully designed to support every stage of a student’s journey. Our facilities include:
The Morven
Morven is the central building of St Patrick’s College, rich in history and tradition. With Celtic meaning, 'lives by the sea', Morven was built in 1864 as the residence of one of Queensland’s first Parliamentarians, Mr John McConnel and later became the official summer home of the Governor of Queensland, Sir Henry Wylie Norman, from 1890 to 1910. In 1951, Father O’Rourke, parish priest of Sandgate, purchased Morven with the vision of establishing a school for young men. The following year, the first classes were held within its walls, marking the beginning of St Patrick’s College as a learning community. Today, Morven remains at the heart of College life, serving as a daily hub for our dedicated teachers and administration staff.
Junior School Precinct
A vibrant hub for Years 5 and 6, the Morrisey Building is a nurturing space where young learners are inspired to explore and grow. Complementing this space is Paddy’s Garden, a hands-on outdoor learning space that encourages curiosity and connection with nature.
Middle and Senior School Precinct
As students progress, so do their learning spaces. The Waterford and O’Connor Precincts are tailored to meet the unique needs of middle and senior students. These purpose-built facilities offer: Flexible learning environments that encourage independence and collaboration. Modern spaces that support academic excellence and future-focused learning.
Sport Facilities
St Patrick’s College offers a dynamic range of sports facilities designed to support both competitive and recreational pursuits. On campus, students have access to a synthetic all-weather back oval, tennis and basketball courts, a fully equipped gym and weights room, and a swimming pool. Just a short walk away, Curlew Park stands as the heart of our sporting life, featuring expansive, well-maintained playing fields for football, rugby, athletics and cricket; providing students with the space to train, compete, and thrive.
Library
Our College Library is more than a quiet place to read; it’s a dynamic learning hub. With access to digital resources, research tools, and comfortable study zones, students are empowered to think critically, inquiry, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
Christian Brothers Building
The Christian Brothers Building, commonly referred to as the CBB, is a dynamic space that seats over 2,000 people. We are privileged to host there our College assemblies, sporting fixtures, and major events such as our Showcase evening and biannual musical.
Arts Precincts
Our Arts Precincts are dynamic spaces where creativity comes to life. Purpose-built studios and performance areas support a wide range of artistic disciplines, including visual arts, drama, and music.
Chapel
Nestled at the top of the Waterford building, our College Chapel offers a serene and intimate setting where students and staff come together each Friday at 8am for prayer and reflection.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
We extend our learning into the local community, making use of the waterfront spaces, parks, businesses and facilities such as Shorncliffe Pier, Deagon Tennis Centre and Sandgate Golf Club. Our students benefit from a rich blend of natural beauty and community connection.
